The problem
The information is public.
Finding it is still work.
Company filings sit across exchanges and regulatory sites, with different access patterns and uneven availability. The practical problem was not a lack of financial information, but a fragmented route to finding it.
I built a searchable platform to bring that discovery step together: find a company, browse its filings and follow a link back to the source document.

What I built
Bring collection and discovery together
I integrated data collection with company search and filing navigation, then deployed the platform as a public website. The result is a usable route into the dataset, rather than a collection of disconnected files.
Keep the original source in reach
Source-link checks were part of the work. Filing links take the reader back to the underlying exchange or regulatory document, so the platform supports research without replacing the source material.
Make the boundaries visible
Coverage is unequal across markets. The interface includes a data-quality notice and market-level browsing rather than presenting the collection as uniformly complete.
The important distinction
A larger index is not the same as better coverage.
The seven markets are the United States, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore. The public dataset is heavily weighted toward US filings; a combined total alone would conceal that imbalance.
For me, the useful lesson is to distinguish what a system contains from what someone can safely conclude from it. Search and source access are demonstrable. Complete market coverage, measured usage and research impact are not established here.
Inspect the work
Start with the live platform: browse a market, search for a company and follow a filing to its original source. Read the coverage notice alongside the results.
The public GitHub repository is an older static snapshot, not the current deployment. It is available as historical context, not as the canonical source of the live site.
This case study covers the public platform only. Internal research, recommendations and employer documents are not included.
